Conviasa warns about scams with the sale of air tickets

Conviasa has as international destinations Bolivia, Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba and the Dominican Republic and has more than 70 authorized travel agencies

The state airline Conviasa alerted on its Twitter account, this Thursday 14, about various private scams through the online sale of unauthorized air tickets.

“Unscrupulous people continue to offer fake airline tickets and scam travelers. Beware of the scam!” says the message from the airline, which attaches a video of an Instagram post about ticket sales to Nicaragua, with attention in Cuba and the United States.

Conviasa has as international destinations Bolivia, Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba and the Dominican Republic and has more than 70 authorized travel agencies.

At the beginning of April, the president of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), M/G Juan Manuel Teixeira, revealed that Conviasa will travel to Qatar before the start of the World Cup, whose opening date is November 21.

Teixeira spoke that exploiting unconventional routes is part of the strategy proposed by Conviasa that “is giving results.” In this sense, he stressed that the intention is to be able to attract passengers from Latin America – where routes have been negotiated in countries such as Bolivia, Argentina and Chile – in order to offer them the possibility of making the Caracas-Doha connection.

The president of INAC also stressed that new Airbus aircraft (one 340-600 and one 340-500) are about to arrive at the state-owned airline, that “they must be flying”, highlighting the ultimate goal of the strategy, which is to regain the position of Venezuela as a connection hub.
