The Infraestrutura MG consortium, formed by the companies Equipav and Perfin, is the winner of the auction that granted the private sector highways between the cities of Poços de Caldas, Pouso Alegre and Itajubá, part of lot 2-Sul de Minas, of the Concessions Program Highways in the State of Minas Gerais.
The maximum discount value offered by the consortium was 14.9% of the value included in the public notice. The consideration that will be paid to the consortium by the Minas Gerais government will be R$ 377 million. The basic value of the toll fee will be R$ 8.32, the maximum amount provided for in the public notice.
Only two consortia participated in the competition held this afternoon (17). In addition to the winner, Monte Rodovias competed.
The auctioned block, at the B3 headquarters, corresponds to 454.3 kilometers (km) of the road concession. Sections of highways BR-459, MG-290, MG-173, MG-295, MG-459, MG-455, LMG-877 and CMG-146 are part of Lot 2-Sul de Minas. The concession period is 30 years.
The project was structured under the leadership of the Project Factory of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The Minas Gerais State Highway Concessions Program has other lots to be granted. Concession dates have not yet been set.
The program was divided into seven lots – six structured by BNDES – and seeks to attract investments of R$ 11 billion through the concession to the private sector of approximately 3,250 kilometers of highways.
Last week, the Federal Court had suspended the holding of this auction. But the Minas Gerais government managed to overturn the injunction and hold the auction this afternoon.
On August 8, the consortium Infrastructure MG had already won the concession for 627 kilometers of highways in lot 1-Triângulo Mineiro, without competition. The sections auctioned in lot 1 are located in the Triângulo Mineiro region and bring together important connecting roads between the municipalities of Uberlândia, Uberaba, Patrocínio, Perdizes and Araxá.
On August 12, the Italian group INC won the concession auction for the Beltway Ring in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.
According to the state secretary of Infrastructure and Mobility, Fernando Marcato, the Minas Gerais government dubbed this week as Infra Uai road concessions, a joke with Infra Week, which was held by the federal government in April.
The secretary said that the Minas Gerais government’s expectation is to auction another two road lots this year.
