The Venezuelan Confederation of Industrialists (Conindustry) rules out a new implementation of price controls in the food sector.

The president of the confederation, Luigi Pisella, indicated in an interview with Radio Union that, in conversations with authorities of the government of Nicolás Maduro, everything related to prices has been discussed and clarified. “A price control for the food sector is ruled out,” he said.

«From Conindustria, receptivity has been observed both on the part of the Executive, and on the part of the industrial sector. In terms of prices, what has been proposed is a rapprochement so that the situation does not get out of hand because there is a lot of concern about the increase in prices at the international level, “he added.

Likewise, he indicated that among the topics to be discussed in the meetings with the National Executive, the five factors that must be resolved to recover normality in the country have been discussed. Among these, he highlighted the credit issue, the tax issue, the fuel issue, among others.

“We think that little by little the situation will recover, because it is a limitation,” he said.

Finally, Pisella pointed out that next Tuesday Conindustria plans to start a tour of Colombia in order to establish agreements and evaluate the exportable offer between both nations and have mutual benefits.
