The Women and Family, and Culture and Cultural Heritage commissions of the Congress of the Republic elected their respective presidents for the 2022-2023 legislative period.
Unanimously, this Wednesday the Women’s Commission elected its board of directors, with the presidency falling to congresswoman Lucinda Vasquez Vela (Teaching Block).
The secretariat of this working group will be occupied by the congressman Jorge Marticorena (Peru Bicentennial), pending the election of the vice president for the next session.
In the session, it was reported that Somos Perú is handing over the vice-presidency to Democratic Peru. In the plenary session of Congress, which will be held this Thursday, August 18, this decision will be reported.
While, Hector Acuna Peraltafrom the Integrity and Development bench, was elected this Wednesday as president of the Commission for Culture and Cultural Heritage.
The board of directors of that group will be made up of Javier Padilla (Popular Renovation) as vice president and Karol Paredes Fonseca (Popular Action) as secretary. The decision was adopted unanimously (12 votes).
After a series of interventions, the head of the legislative group declared the commission installed for the annual period of sessions 2022-2023, and it was agreed by majority that the sessions would be held on Mondays at 3:00 p.m.
