The Special Commission in charge of the process of selecting candidates for magistrates of the constitutional Court (TC) will discuss candidate reconsideration requests and its final report this Monday, April 18.
According to the agenda of said working group, the seventeenth extraordinary session will begin that day at 12:00 noonvirtually, through the Microsoft Teams session platform.
On that date, the request for reconsideration of the following applicants will be seen:
- Juan José Blossiers Mazzini.
- Guillermo Boza Pro.
- Cesar Augusto Chambergo Chamame.
- Antenor José Escalante Gonzales.
- Cayo Cesar Galindo Sandoval.
- Fredy Widmar Hernandez Rengifo.
- Roberto Leopoldo Maradiegue Rios.
- Jorge Luis Riojas Vallejos.
- Hipólito Martin Rodríguez Casavilca.
- Miracles Revilla Left.
- Rafael Ruiz Hidalgo.
- Maira del Pilar Dolores Tello Leyva.
- David Moises Velasco Perez Velasco.
Subsequently, the Special Commission will carry out the debate and approval of the final report. A total of six lawyers were chosen as suitable to be elected as new magistrates of the CT.
After having gone through different evaluations and a personal interview, the applicants must obtain at least 87 votes each in order to be appointed as members of the highest body of justice.
According to what appears on the website of the working group, the table of merits was as follows:
- Morales Saravia, Francisco Humberto (cumulative score of 92.89).
- Gutierrez Ticse, Luis Gustavo (cumulative score of 88.67).
- Dominguez Haro, Helder (cumulative score 84.00)
- Pacheco Zerga, Luz Imelda (cumulative score 83.96)
- Monteagudo Valdez, Manuel (cumulative score 75.88)
- Ochoa Cardich, Cesar Augusto (cumulative score 73.32)
The accumulated score is the sum of what was obtained in the curricular evaluation and in the personal interview for each one of the applicants for the positions of magistrates of the TC.
It is planned that this Monday, April 18, the The Special Commission will have to send the list of merits together with the final report to the Presidency of the Congress of the Republic. containing the motivation of the score awarded to each applicant.
