The full of Congress approved last night constitutionally denounce the former prosecutor of the Nation Pedro Chávarry for the crimes of real and personal cover-up. The file that recommended his accusation, supported by the president of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, Rosio Torres, received the approval of 53 congressmen. Eighteen legislators opposed it —among Fujimorism and its allies—, and nine abstained.
However, when the sanction of disqualifying him from public office for 10 years —part of the political trial— was put to the vote, the 66 votes required by the regulations were not reached. 55 voted in favor, 26 against and 6 abstained. This was enough for Chávarry to get out of the disqualification for a decade to work in the State.

Then, the constitutional complaints against four former magistrates were debated. The draft legislative resolution was approved by 79 votes in favor and 7 abstentions declares that there is room for the formation of a case against former Supreme Judge César Hinostroza Pariachi for the crime of criminal organization, illegal sponsorship, specific passive bribery and influence peddling.

In his plea, Hinostroza said that his fundamental rights had been violated, such as the secrecy of communications, it also questioned the legal foundations of the final report. He even went so far as to say: “You cannot be a table of parts, you have to evaluate, gentlemen”. And he asked to file his case.

In application of the regulations of the Congress, your file will be sent to the Prosecutor of the Nation so that he may proceed according to his attributions.
