Congress dispatches to law the first budget of the Government of President Gabriel Boric

The Senate Chamber approved the report of the Mixed Commission for the 2023 Budget Law project presented by President Gabriel Boric. In this way, the initiative ends its legislative process after arduous conversations in Congress and -within the legal term- its approval will be reported to the Executive.

After the measure was approved, the president of the Senate, Álvaro Elizalde (PS), told Rbye Biobío that “I think that in general a good budget was approved. I value above all the constructive attitude of the dialogue that was generated in the Senate”.

For his part, Senator Juan Antonio Coloma (UDI), maintained that “it was possible to replace the gloss of Liceos Bicentenario, a substantial increase in the resources of the Police and PDI in terms of security. Having generated a new gloss for Sercotec. 40 changes will be they did, it’s good to have ended this agreement budgetarily”.

It should be remembered that this morning, the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies did the same with the report, which, among other things, increased to $1,200 million the budget authorized for the National Migration Service, to execute and make effective measures for the expulsion of foreigners from the national territory.

Regarding Sercotec, financing of $1,200 million was arranged for micro, small and medium-sized companies. The resources will be used mainly to help companies that were affected in the context of the demonstrations of the social outbreak.

In the same way, the norm that prevented those sanctioned by the Safe Classroom Law from obtaining the benefit of gratuity was replaced. In this way, the new provision implies that the Executive must establish a working group to review the conditions to access the benefits of free university. For this, the implications of serious violent behaviors in the last years of secondary or higher education will be considered.
