Congress approved by insistence Fonavi’s contribution return law

With 101 votes in favor, zero against and zero abstentions, the plenary session of the approved this Thursday, by insistence, the Fonavi money return law to workers who contributed to it, prioritizing the vulnerable population as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The final amount of S/ 42,008 million was also ratified in favor of the Fonavistas, considering the consumer price index (CPI) and both contributions from workers and employers.

Let us remember that the Parliament approved the aforementioned norm on January 13, however, it was observed by the Executive Power.

The observation questioned the criteria with which the amount owed to the Fonavistas was determined, pointing out that the calculation should be made only on the contributions of employees.

The Executive had presented a counterproposal that proposed an immediate refund of between S/ 420 and S/ 700 for 1,800,000 fonavistas.
