The mayor of San Miguel, Erika Martínez, reported through her Twitter account the death of the former mayor of the commune and member of the Socialist Party (PS), Julio Palestro, at the age of 68.
“From this space I send my condolences to his family and close ones,” said the highest community authority and militant of Social Convergence.
“Know that you are in the prayers and thoughts of our neighbors and neighbors in these difficult times,” added the mayor.
The vice president of the PS, Arturo Barrios, confirmed the news on his networks. “Still not understanding what has happened, we are all dismayed, you finally decided to leave. A big hug and a thousand thanks for everything, dear Julio Palestro, you are and will be remembered as a great one,” Barrios wrote.
After returning from exile, Julio Palestro rejoined the Socialist Party of San Miguel, being its community president, he was also political manager of the community, vice president of the Metropolitan Region community, member between 2006 and 2008 of the political commission of the PS and among 2008 and 2010, member of the Central Committee.
