President Alberto Fernández made a call this Wednesday for the unity of the ruling party by stating that “comrades who raise dissidences cannot be enemies”, and affirmed that “merit moves society if everyone has the same rights”, when speaking during an act for the 77 years of the creation of the union of mechanical workers Smata, in downtown Buenos Aires.

“Let’s not forget that we must be united, the phrase that was said in the (Peronist) march ‘all united we will triumph’ is right, because When they divided us, (Mauricio) Macri won. For this reason, the comrades who raise dissidences cannot be the enemies“, affirmed the head of state in the act held at the Smata headquarters, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Confederation of Industrial Unions (Csira) and historic leader of that union, Ricardo Pignanelli, the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, and the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli, among other officials.

“For us, work is not a cost, work linked to capital is progress and future”

“Let us also remember that enemies are not among us, the enemies are the ones that plunged Argentina into misfortune. We are children of (Juan Domingo Perón) and Evita (Perón). We only understand a society with rights. Merit moves society into the future if everyone has the same conditions. That is what the state is for, to equalize and give the same conditions,” he stressed.

The president also alluded to those “who are teaching morality and governability through all the country’s media” and who “don’t stop saying barbarities, barbaric things, forgetting what they did.”

In this sense, he stated that “between 2003 and 2015 the real wage in Argentina grew 19 points and between 2015 and 2019 it fell 20 points.”

Alberto Fernández also reviewed that During Macri’s administration “160,000 formal jobs were lost in industrial activity” and “the industrial GDP per capita fell by 17.5%”.

“For us, work is not a cost, work linked to capital is progress and future”, remarked the Head of State.

“We only understand a society with rights. Merit moves society towards the future if everyone has the same conditions. That is what the state is for, to equalize and give the same conditions”

“Let us know where we were and what those who are giving lectures today did,” reiterated the President.

He also recalled “the indecency” of having contracted the debt with the International Monetary Fund “that we had to resolve in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.”

After summarizing the actions undertaken by the national government in the context of the pandemic, the President recalled that “the economy that is falling can be recovered, but the life that is lost cannot” and indicated that “many criticized me for that and I endured honks and burning of chinstraps “.

“But the WHO – he continued – gave the results of how the world dealt with the pandemic and we are among the best in the world, among the countries that best dealt with the pandemic.”

Lastly, he again mentioned former president Mauricio Macri by indicating that “Macri said that for them work is a cost, but for us work, associated with capital, is progress”.

Alberto Fernández made a call to distribute “adequately” so that the profits generated by productive activity “do not go into the pockets of a few while millions remain mired in poverty.”

“As long as there is a poor person in Argentina, we cannot sleep peacefully,” he concluded.
