A group of political and social organizations came out to publicly express their rejection of the assumption of Horacio Rosatti, current president of the Supreme Court of the Nation, as head of the Judicial Council. The situation is extremely controversial, given that the function of the Council is to appoint the judges and prosecutors of the public ministry, prosecute them disciplinary and, eventually, dismiss them.
Among the most relevant are Militant Peronism, Militant Lealtad Current, the April 13 Peronist Current, Kolina National Liberation Current, the National Confederation of Worker Cooperatives (CNCT), Federation of Workers of the Social Economy (FeTraEs), the Unbreakable, the Piquetero Party, the National and Popular Current May 25 (CNP25), the National Transversal Front, the Cooperative Front of the Province of Buenos Aires (Fecoopba), Descamisadxs, La Veinte and the November 17 Group.
Among the main arguments are:
● Rosatti “revived a law repealed 16 years ago” (Militant Peronism)
● It is a “Rosatti’s overwhelming maneuver, appointed by decree by Mauricio Macri” (CNCT).
● The own “Rosatti became president of the Supreme Court with three votes, one of himself and then he was awarded the presidency of the Council” (FETRAES).
● “Consume one of the most threatening actions of the rule of law and the coexistence of powers” (Loyalty).
● “It configures an attack on institutions and democracy” (April 13th).

● “They seek impunity for the macrismo, persecute popular leaders and stop measures that affect the powerful” (Piqueteros Party).
The organizations claim that The Legislative Power is allowed to continue with the bill that will govern the operation of the Council of the Magistratureanother of the actions that Rosatti blocks from his double role as president of the Supreme Court and head of the body that oversees the functioning of the judges.
