Communication and reliability at the push of Checo

For the Mexican Formula 1 driver, Checo Pérez, the 2022 season is proving to be the best of the 12 that he has been on in the top motorsport circuit. After half a year of activities (with 11 of 22 races held), the man from Guadalajara has been a key piece for his team, Red Bull Racing, to dominate the Constructors’ World Championship and has also positioned himself on the World Championship podium for much of the calendar of Pilots.

The second half of the season will be activated during the French GP, where Pérez has made clear his position of being a candidate for the top: “I’m still in the fight for the Drivers’ World Championship, so, personally, it’s important not to lose more points”, said the Mexican, who so far is the third best driver in the competition with 151 points, below the 170 of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and the 208 of his teammate, Max Verstappen.

But for Pérez to fulfill his goal, he needs to hone his relationship with Red Bull with assignments in and out of the car. In two of the last three races (Austrian and Canadian GP) he has had to retire due to reliability problems with his car.

“During the first half of the season, most of the points lost by both teams (Red Bul and Ferrari) and by their four drivers have been due to issues of lack of reliability of their cars,” explains Alberto Tello de Meneses, consultant in strategic communication and specialist in F1 issues.
