communal enterprises from different parts of the country prepare their participation in Perumin 35th Mining Convention, to be held in the city of Arequipa from September 26 to 30 of this year. These are companies organized by neighboring residents of mining operations, in high Andean areas, which, with the support and backing of various mines, the demand for services and the commercial flow that boosts extractive activity, have managed to be self-sustaining, achieve profitability and generate work for the population.
The development of communal enterprises is an alternative for joint work between mining companies and surrounding communities to promote territorial development in areas where both interact. While the community contributes to it with its entrepreneurship and dedication to work, the mining companies provide training to strengthen the productive skills of the community, knowledge to enhance the standard of services, joint work opportunities, logistical resources and seed capital so that the company community can begin to forge its own development.
Thus, at PERUMIN 35, cases such as Grupo Corporativo Golden, a company founded in Huamachuco (La Libertad) that today provides construction services to various mines in the north of the country, will be presented; the community company Ecoserm Rancas, from Pasco, which provides multiple services to mining companies in the central highlands; and the company Maquinaria y Servicios Alto Huarca (MYSER), which arrives from Espinar (Cusco) to publicize its work experience in the so-called southern mining corridor.
“PERUMIN 35 involves various actors that are part of mining development in its development. Includes investors, companies, workers, community members, mining suppliers, authorities, etc. The objective is to have a meeting point to learn about successful development experiences for the industry, which also includes the consolidation of good relations between companies and communities and mutual work for territorial development.”, explained Claudia Cooper, president of PERUMIN 35.
The presentation of success stories of communal enterprises will be developed as part of the activities of the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum (TIS Forum), developed within the framework of the Mining Convention, which runs from Tuesday, September 27 to Thursday, September 29. The TIS Forum, recognized as the main space for training and technical meeting of PERUMIN, also includes a program of six master conferences and 12 round tables, where issues of mine operation, technology, environmental management, taxation, social management, among others, will be analyzed. other aspects.
