Common prisoners beat the political prisoner Jorge Bello by order of the prison authorities

Madrid Spain.- Cuban independent journalist and political prisoner Jorge Bello Domínguez was beaten last week by common prisoners who were carrying out orders from the Combinado del Este prison authorities, where he is being held for his participation in the demonstrations on July 11, 2021.

As reported to Radio Television Marti Martha Domínguez, the mother of the political prisoner, was transferred to a punishment cell after the beating.

Martha Domínguez, who learned of this fact through a phone call from another inmate, denounced that “he was beaten by a common prisoner named Yaser, who is doing drug trafficking, who had two or three ‘little friends’ who joined him in the mistreatment committed, because that was already planned.

Two days before “they had carried out a search and officer Pedro had threatened to hit him,” the lady explained.

“The guards went up and handcuffed Jorgito and already in those conditions, Yaser hit him again in the area of the neck and then they took my son to the punishment cell, where he stood up and spent 32 hours without eating any food, when Jorge, who is a sick man, has to inject himself with insulin daily and they did not give it to him during that period, while against Yaser they did not take any action, “said Bello’s mother.

The next day, Martha Domínguez went to the penitentiary center, where Major Kindelán treated her.

“I told him that I wouldn’t leave until I saw my son; They kept me until after one in the afternoon, until they brought Jorgito handcuffed and chained. I saw it and talked to my son, all the time with Kindelán present. I asked him to lift his clothes and I could see that his arms were scratched and bruised, ”he explained.

Domínguez also denounced: “They told me that they could not touch a prisoner because that could cause them problems, and I replied `that it is possible that the officers do not mistreat the prisoners personally, because you send other prisoners to do it, what happened is so that they would have taken a measure against the aggressor and not against the person who was attacked´. All the problems within the Combinado are against the political prisoners and the boys of July 11, so draw your own conclusions from everything that is happening in this prison to the prisoners for political reasons.”

Jorge Bello Domínguez, 11J protester in Güira de Melena, Artemisa province, He was sentenced last April to 15 years in prison for the crime of contempt.
