Colombian exports grew 32.7% in 2021

Colombian exports grew 32.7% in the year 2021 compared to the year 2020, according to the figures shared this Monday by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).

In this period, the country’s external sales totaled US$41,224 million, compared to US$31,055.8 million in 2020. Of the total exports, US$19,685.5 million correspond to the category of fuels and extractive production. This category had an increase of 47.9% compared to last year.

It is followed by the manufacturing category, with a value of US$8,938.9 million in 2021, a growth of 28.7% compared to the first year of the pandemic, when they totaled US$6,945.6 million. The division of “other sectors totaled US$3,159.2 million

When making the comparison of the year 2021 compared to 2019, it is observed that exports grew by 4.4%.

In the period January-December 2021, The United States was the main destination for Colombian exports, with a participation of 26.6% in the total value exported; They were followed in their order of participation by China (6.8%), Panama (5.9%), India (5.1%), Brazil (5%), Ecuador (4.3%) and Turkey (3.1 %).
