Saving from the month of January until December arrives is an activity that many Colombians do to spend money at the end of the year on clothes, trips, vacations, luxuries or details.
Some do it from their bank accounts to protect their money from loss or theft, or others simply accumulate bills or coins in an improvised piggy bank.
This is the case of a couple who have gone viral on social media for saving money throughout 2022, using a 20-liter plastic bottle.

They took out their savings
A couple of days ago, they decided to put an end to their programmed savings and open the jug filled to the brim with bills and coins with a knife.

When they opened it with a knife, they spent more than four hours at the table counting the money and due to fatigue, they asked several of their relatives for help to count the coins and bills of different denominations. Bills of 2 thousand pesos and coins of 1 thousand, were the most abundant.

How much did they accumulate?
Finally, and after several hours of counting, the couple recorded a saving of $6,331,700, a considerable figure that they wanted to share through a very interesting dynamic.
Part of that money was allocated to give it to whoever guessed how much they would save during the year. Their relatives and some friends participated in this game, who had to say beforehand how much the couple would save.
The prize for whoever guessed the total amount was $200,000.

After checking in a notebook where they had written down the predictions, they confirmed that the lucky winner was her grandmother: “she was the one who needed it the most,” said the couple who were happy that she was the winner in the game.
