COE reports 4 dead in first bulletin

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported four deaths this Good Friday, three in a traffic accident, one of them outside the 2022 “Awareness for Life” Easter operation and another due to drowning.

The deceased are two men aged 19 and 26, due to incidents on the roads, and a 6-year-old boy who drowned in the Río San Juan ravine, San Juan de la Maguana.

In its first bulletin of the prevention operation, which began on Holy Thursday, the COE details that 2,143 roadside assistance and 469 medical and health assistance were carried out.

He also explained that there have been 41 traffic accidents, affecting 49 people.

It also indicates 20 people for food poisoning and another 46 for alcohol intake, of which three turned out to be minors between 15 and 16 years old.

Indicates that COE that of the total number of incidents, 26 involved motorcycles, 11 light vehicles, one a bicycle, and three were run over.
