The Government of Cochabamba issued a decree on Wednesday prohibiting the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages during the Easter holiday.

Departmental decree 4848 dictates that the measure will be in force between 0:00 on Thursday, April 14, and 24:00 on Friday, April 15, “in private homes, stores, restaurants, and any public or private establishment throughout the department of Cochabamba”.

They also urge to comply with biosecurity protocols and avoid crowds in religious acts, to prevent an escalation of infections by Covid-19.

“The Autonomous Municipal Governments are in charge of complying with Departmental Decree 4848, in addition to public and private entities,” emphasizes the Government, in a statement.
