President Luis Abinader authorized the Executive Director of the CNE, Edward Veras, to sign the definitive concession with Tropigas Dominicana, through special power of attorney number 74-21, dated November 9 of this year.
Veras said that the agreement constitutes a milestone for CNE, as it is the third concession to be signed this week, which is yet another example of the confidence generated by the government of the Dominican Republic in private investors.
The plant managed by Carlos José Martí Garden will have a normal generation capacity of 43 megawatts (43 MWn) and a peak production capacity of 50.32 megawatts (50.32 MWp). The company will be located in the Dajao section, in Haras Nacionales, Santo Domingo Norte municipality, Santo Domingo province.
On March 3, 2020, the company requested the definitive concession and on June 22, 2021, through resolution number CNE-CD-0006-2021, the National Energy Commission recommended to the Executive Branch to grant the definitive concession in favor of the Plant Solar Martí.
