This December 7, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez, appointed Clara Liliana Guatame Aponte, as president of the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH). The fact is historical because it is the first time that a woman presides over this entity.

Guatame is a geologist from the National University of Colombia, with a Master of Science from the same university. Likewise, He has more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors and the hydrocarbons sector.
He has held management positions in the National Hydrocarbons Agency where he was technical vice president in charge and manager of technical information and knowledgein charge of both functions.
He comes from working at the Colombian Geological Service and at the former Colombian Institute of Geology and Mining, Ingeominas.
Among the challenges he encounters upon his arrival is implementing the strategies aimed at ensure energy self-sufficiency, Obtain the feasibility of suspended contracts and support the execution of current contracts, within the framework of the sustainable development of the hydrocarbons sector.
Likewise, it must strengthen the relationship with the communities in the territory and the socialization of the fair, gradual, equitable and safe energy transition.
