City of the Arts will be ready at the end of 2022, it is already 84% complete

The City of Arts is 84% ​​complete, so the work is expected to be delivered and inaugurated at the end of 2022, as announced by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, during an inspection tour of the draft.

The project, which is located in the district of Curundú, has an investment of $55,227,345.00, began in 2013 and was received by the current administration with 35% progress.

“She was abandoned for four years without any kind of movement; in my administration we have given a boost to an infrastructure as important as this”, said President Cortizo Cohen.

The president stressed that the works, carried out by the contractor company Administradora de Proyectos de Construcción, SA (Aprocosa), contemplate the completion of structures and finishes, connection to infrastructure networks, construction of levels 400, 500, 600 and 700 of the parking building; equipment of the theater and the set of buildings.

This work will have seven buildings that will house the home of the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Ballet; the schools of Theater, Dance, Plastic Arts and the National Institute of Music.

It will also have a cafeteria, exhibition halls, a library, a multifunctional theater and will house the headquarters of the Circle of Writers and Writers of Panama.

According to Cortizo, this “does not benefit a political party or an administration, it benefits Panamanians and it is the obligation of governments to complete the works of other administrations.”
