Santiago – The Santiago Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (Coraasan), reported that this Wednesday, November 2, it will be carrying out work to correct a fault in the 48-inch main line of the Cibao Central aqueduct, located in the Estrella Sadhalá bridge section of La Lotería, with whose intervention the production of water will be better used potable.
The engineer Andrés Burgos indicated that this intervention will also serve for the installation of a macro meter at the outlet of the aforementioned aqueduct in La Noriega, which will allow in the future to create balances in the main and secondary macro networks, reducing physical losses. and commercial that can be produced in the area.
Likewise, a faulty valve located in the Los Cerros de Gurabo I pumping station will be replaced, facilitating the distribution of the drinking water service to the sectors that are supplied by said station.
From 6:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the afternoon, the aqueduct will go out of operation, affecting the municipalities of Puñal, Licey al Medio, Tamboril and a large part of the main municipality, Santiago de los Caballeros.
Burgos stated that with these actions the institution seeks to continue working to improve the service and, at the same time, carry out corrective maintenance when necessary.
The executive urged the population to store water while the aqueduct is out of service.
