Residents of Chiquitano communities left in a peaceful march on Monday at 5:00 p.m. from Pailón towards the seat of Government to demand the clearing of their lands, endowment of titles and legal certainty.

The more than 3,000 marchers brand the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA) as inefficient for not providing solutions to their demands for more than 12 years and they hope that the President of the State, Luis Arce Catacora, will personally listen to their requests when they arrive in La Paz.

“This march andowing to the land issue, the communities of the Greater Chiquitania claim and demand legal certainty, titling for our communities. We are tired of the bureaucracy at INRA and that its officials delay our formalities”, expressed the president of the marching committee, Paulo Colque.

This Wednesday the march reached the capital of Santa Cruz, where they will hold a planning meeting at the Departmental Federation of Original Indigenous Workers and at the end of it, the caravan will continue its course to La Paz.
