The snack Cheese Tris returned to the market today after agreeing to Indecopi’s condition of not exceeding the trans fat limit established by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), reported its parent company, Snacks América Latina SRL
“Today we received the results of the FS Certifications Laboratory, accredited by the highest technical normative authority of Inacal, which ratify that our 39g Cheese Tris️ product does not exceed the limits of trans fats”the company said in a statement.
“These analyzes coincide and accredit our initial and current position, as well as the previous analyzes that we provided to Indecopi and Digesa in October and December 2021 ″added.
On Tuesday, Indecopi announced that the Cheese Tris product may be marketed again, but only if it is guaranteed that it does not exceed the permitted limit for trans fats.
The Consumer Protection Commission N ° 3 (CC3) decided, by majority vote, to vary the precautionary measure that ordered the cessation of distribution and marketing of the Cheese Tris product, from the Frito Lay brand, for allegedly having exceeded the limit of allowed trans fat content.
“We will continue to certify to the CC3, through test reports from authorized laboratories, that each of the batches that we produce of Cheese Tris does not exceed the permitted limits”the company noted.
