Chamber of Commerce seeks to specify the economic reactivation of the country

The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), highlighted this Sunday that it seeks to specify the economic reactivation of various sectors of the country.

For this, the union and its board of directors held meetings with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the Republic of Panama (Fedecámaras), collectively and individually; as well as with different associations of the productive sectors of Panama.

In a statement, the CCIAP highlights that the objective is to strengthen ties and find solutions to the challenges of the current economic situation, such as recovering jobs, rebuilding the economic reactivation national and promote sustainable and equitable development.

As part of this work plan, the Chamber of Commerce also held meetings in the last two weeks with the Chambers of Commerce of Chitré and Chiriquí; as well as with the National Livestock Association (Anagan), the Highland Producers Association, the National Association of Coffee Processing and Exporters, the Specialty Coffee Association and the Western Region Competitiveness Center (Cecomro).

He has also held exchanges with businessmen in the tourism sector of Boquete, entrepreneurs and young professionals from the city of David, with whom he reviewed the situation of the world economy, its impacts on the country, the pressure that external factors bring to the structure of costs of the productive sectors and the great importance of eliminating price controls.

On the tourism issue, the need to maintain infrastructure and increase air frequencies was raised, all of these issues aimed at economic reactivation.

According to the businessmen, to promote the economic reactivation of Panama a long-term sustainable development is needed, what corresponds at this time is to focus the strategy towards actions that, in a transversal way, affect growth, not of a sector or a region but the whole country.
