Cerro Patacón waste picker crushed to death by heavy machinery

On the afternoon of this Monday, May 30, a grassroots recycler was crushed to death by heavy machinery at the Cerro Patacón landfill.

As reported, this person died in the “Shooting Front” area, the place of final disposal of the waste that enters the landfill.

Previously, recyclers have denounced poor working conditions, for example, the recycler leader José “Cholo” Mosquera has said that there are serious violations of Human Rights against the hundreds of men and women who carry out the recycling trade in Cerro Patacón.
