President Luis Arce promulgated this Friday the law for the application of the census results. From the MAS the action is considered a “historical error”while the opposition criticize the words of hate and persecution during his message.

Evo Morales, head of the ruling party, pointed out that For the first time, a president validates a rule that makes his own decree unnecessary and confirms that there is a pact between “renovators” and the opposition.

“The promulgation of the census law by our brother president @LuchoXBolivia It will be a historical error as it is the first time a president signs a law that makes his own decree unnecessary. Could this consequence have been premeditated by the coup opposition?”, accused the ex-authority.

He warned that “behind the return of the neoliberal pactocracy, the pact of impunity in exchange for governability is hidden”, insisting that “opportunism and the ambitions of a few have subdued our elected government with 55.11 percent in control of the minority benches of the right”.

The Secretary General of National Unity (UN), Samuel Doria Medina, deplored the president’s confrontational speech. “The president has made a speech that insists on attacking the citizens of Santa Cruz. If you really want the unity of the country and the good of all, he must know that community is not built with threats. Think, President, of everyone, stop the persecution and insist on the agreement”, he posted.

In this regard, the deputy of Comunidad Ciudadana (CC), Carlos Alarcón, stated that “in his speech promulgating the Census Law, Luis Arce exudes hatred, persecution and confrontation against the Santa Cruz leadership that promoted the councils and the strike . He missed the best moment to give hope to the country on the path of dialoguereunion and concertation”.

Finally, Carlos Dabdoub, a former civic leader from Santa Cruz, said that “the president’s recent speech looks like a football manager implicitly admitting defeat, yes, fiercely laying all the blame on the civic movement from Santa Cruz. What a lack of dignity!”
