On May 18, it will be held throughout the country the census national, which for this year brings different novelties, among them, a digital questionnaire that can be filled out until the same date.
In addition, for this 2022, the census removed some historical questions and added new ones, so the formula It includes issues related to the self-perception of gender identity and ethnic self-recognition.
In addition, questions about the difficulties or limitations of the population were incorporated. Meanwhile, some of the questions that were removed from the census are related to marital status.
Total, citizens must complete 61 questions, of which 37 are related to the characteristics of the populationand the remaining 24 to housing conditions.
As it is necessary for citizens to be in their homes to receive the officials of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), the Government declared May 18 as a holiday.
However, before carrying out the face-to-face survey, citizens can fill out the digital form through the INDEC website. Once the questionnaire is completed, the system will return a code.
This number must be presented to the census takers on May 18, so it will no longer be necessary for them to carry out the survey physical. Those who do not choose this option will be dismissed directly that day.
The digital form will be available until May 18 at 8:00 a.m.when the census takers will start the face-to-face session in all the regions of the national territory.
There will be fines for those who do not complete the census or provide false information.
According to Law 17,622, people who “do not provide on time, falsify or produce with malicious omission the information necessary for statistics and censuses” will be sanctioned.
Said fine will have a minimum value of $1,076 and a maximum of $106,799. It should be remembered that to prevent theft in homes, census takers will be duly identified with a bib, an identification card and a QR code.
