The psychologist and human rights defender, Celia Moreno, referred this Tuesday to gender violence and the increase in femicide in the country, asserting that civil society has to take measures to react against the inaction and indifference of the State towards the women.

“If you are seeing that sexual violence and femicides are increasing, take drastic measures, urgently. We do not see that this is the case, they are more concerned about creating more corregimientos and stealing people’s money,” he said.

Moreno pointed out that if we don’t have public policies or a state that supports us, “we have to do something. I advise girls to carry their key chains with manual alarms.”
