How much does a CDMX deputy earn?
According to data from the National Transparency Platform, a representative of the third legislature of the Congress of Mexico City receives a daily income of 2,500 pesos as part of their legislative diet. This represents an approximate monthly perception of 75,000 pesoswithout considering taxes or deductions.
In terms of bonus, the capital legislators will receive a bonus equivalent to 40 days of dietwhich adds up to approximately 100,000 pesos, since this income is tax-free.
To this amount is added the salary corresponding to the two fortnights of the month of December, which is equivalent to 55,609 pesos already with taxes deducted. In total, a deputy from Mexico City receives close to 155,609 pesos in the last month of the year, adding bonus and regular salary.
This figure represents an increase of just over 6,000 pesos compared to the year 2023, when each deputy of the second legislature received a bonus of 96,816.40 pesosin addition to your net monthly diet of 52,426 pesos. In total, both concepts added 149,242.40 pesos in that period.
The Jucopo agreement establishes that the payment of 40 days of salary for the bonus will also be applicable to rank-and-file and trusted workers of the local legislature.
So that the bonuses of deputies and Congress workers remain tax-free, the Congress of Mexico City will have a special item in its budget to make the corresponding contributions.
