Colombia experienced this week a slight increase in covid-19 infections by reporting 13,810 cases in the last seven days, according to a report from the health authorities released this Thursday.

“Colombia presents a slight increase in the number of infections by covid-19, and continues to represent a greater risk to the health of people without vaccination and with risk factors”the Ministry of Health noted on Twitter this week.
Despite the fact that infections have increased, deaths have not grown and this week 24 were reported, which occurred in Bogotá (5), Valle del Cauca (4), Antioquia, Norte de Santander and Santander (3), Córdoba (2), and Atlántico, Boyacá, Cundinamarca and Tolima (1).
(247 deaths from covid and less than 16,000 infections are reported).
In the country, since the first case was reported on March 6, 2020, the pandemic has left 6,131,657 infected and 139,918 fatalities.
Since last May 1, Colombia eliminated the mandatory use of face masks in closed places in municipalities that have more than 70% of their population fully vaccinated against covid-19 nor will the vaccination card be required in mass and leisure activities.
