Caracas trains to defend the Homeland with civic-military exercises

Representatives of the Bolivarian militias, communal councils, and the people in general, led by the Caracas authorities, gathered in Plaza Oleary, in the Cathedral parish, with the purpose of reporting on the deployment carried out in the parishes of the capital, with a view to to carry out defense exercises in the event of any eventuality that may arise.

The Head of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, stated that in the action “the people gather today in Plaza Oleary, to defend the center of the city of Caracas, against those who try to steal the peace of the people, against those who try to murder , kill and call fascism as a political practice; Here are the organized armies of our people, the communal councils, the militias, the companions of the social movements and the iron cavalry.

For her part, Admiral Carmen Meléndez, mayor of Caracas, pointed out that since 7 in the morning different exercises were carried out in the parishes of Caracas, given the possibility of a threat, the “Protective Shield of Caracas” was activated.

“We are all together, in this fusion of Popular Power – military – and police, (…) we have made a call, in each of the exercises, in each of the parishes, with their command posts, activated the management bodies of comprehensive, regional and capital defense, all together with the instructions,” he indicated.

Meléndez added that with the exercise they can determine what role they will play in the face of “the threat.”

He specified that although there is a sector that intends to “take away Christmas and the people say no, they are willing to do anything to defend our institutions, our President Nicolás Maduro and defend the people themselves.”

He said that it was a day where the corresponding exercises were carried out in all the parishes and later in the Ezequiel Zamora Park (Calvario), all the experiences, limitations and strengths that they have will be shared.

Among the exercises that were carried out was one that “simulated the Miraflores Palace”, being the protective shield on January 23, while in the Mountain Barracks, there is a command post “protecting Commander Chávez.”

For his part, Major General Dilio Guillermo Rodríguez Díaz, commander of the capital city, stated that after the exercises it was possible to realize that there is a people organized and prepared to defend the Homeland.

“More than ever, there is a trained, trained and prepared people, convinced with a revolutionary political ideology, ready to defend the territory. In every corner of Venezuela there is a prepared and convinced popular power,” he stated.

It should be noted that the mayor, Carmen Meléndez, in her Instagran account, pointed out that the Bolivarian Shield of Popular Protector of Caracas Darío Vivas exercise, with a previously outlined strategy, in a civic-military-police union was carried out from early hours.

“Protecting the people of Caracas and our institutions from any threat is the main objective of this mobilization, as our President has ordered,” he emphasized.
