The Panamanian Chamber of Construction (CAPAC) inaugurated this Thursday, April 20, the twentieth version of Expo Vivienda CAPAC 2023, as part of the actions carried out by the union to contribute to the recovery of the national economy and the strengthening and sustainability of the industry of the construction.
The opening ceremony of this important fair event that will be open to the public, at the Panama Convention Center (PCC), until Sunday, April 23, was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, special guests and members of the CAPAC.
In Expo Vivienda CAPAC 2023, more than 120 exhibitors participate, submitting for the consideration of visitors about 1,000 housing options that are an integral part of 300 real estate projects located in the metropolitan area, in Panama East and Panama West, beach developments and in the cities of David, Boquete, Penonomé, Santiago and Chitré.
Demetrio Arosemena, president of the Organizing Committee for Fairs, highlighted during his speech that, according to a conservative projection of the organizers, some 12,000 visitors to the fairgrounds are expected in search of housing at affordable prices and according to the economic possibilities of each family. The motto of the fair is “The key to your future”.
Homes whose purchase value is in a range between $40,000 and $180,000, will have the benefits of preferential interest rates that make it easier to acquire a home in line with the economic possibilities of the buyers. CAPAC expects to exceed $130 million in mortgage transactions.
The president of CAPAC, Carlos Allen, speaking to the attendees, said that the union he represents makes efforts, in coordination with the national government, to contribute to the recovery of the economy and achieve the strengthening and sustainability of the construction industry. .
In this sense, he announced that, after months of meetings with different authorities and after accepting the request in which CAPAC, the National Assembly of Deputies endorsed the updating of the law that supports the measure.
“A few days ago, the Assembly approved the update of the Preferred Interest Law, which has been largely responsible, for many years, for the growing and sustained performance of the construction industry,” Allen said.
The fair has a schedule from Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm On Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm The general cost Admission is $2.00 and $1.00 for retirees and children.
To facilitate the arrival of visitors to the PCC, the organizers have provided free transportation from Plaza 5 de Mayo to the fairgrounds, from 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21, and from 10:30 a.m. am on Saturday April 22 and Sunday April 23. Likewise, the enclosure has more than 1,700 parking spaces available free of charge.
