A Center for Cuba Studies is inaugurated at a Chinese university

The Hebei University of International Studies, in China, inaugurated the Center for Cuba Studies.

Located in the northern region of China and made up of 28 institutes, Hebei University of International Studies has more than 21,000 students and 1,300 faculty.

This higher education center has signed agreements with several Cuban universities, such as the Higher Institute of Art and the universities of Oriente and Havana.

The Cuban embassy in Beijing released the information via Twitter. The rector of the house of higher studies, Sun Jianzhong, and the head of the Havana mission in China, Carlos Pereira, participated in the ceremony, held yesterday Wednesday.

The Cuban diplomat expressed that the Center is called to become an important academic link to continue promoting knowledge about both countries, and a platform to promote dialogue with Latin America.

Pereira toured the campus of the University, and the International Institute of Artificial Intelligence, which will soon receive Cuban experts.

In 2020, the rectors of the Hebei University of International Studies, Sun Jianzhong, and of the University of Havana, Miriam Nicado, signed an academic collaboration agreement in Havana to found the Institute on Artificial Intelligence based on the knowledge that is produces from the two institutions.
