Caggiani criticized the defense "of brave bar" from Lacalle Pou to Robert Silva after graffiti

The director of the National Institute of Educational Evaluation (Ineed) and former Primary School counselor Pablo Caggiani, criticized the defense that President Luis Lacalle Pou made of Robert Silva and of the educational reform promoted by the government after the Codicen director’s house was graffitied in the early hours of Saturday with messages alluding to the reform.

“Education belongs to the people” and “Robo Silva Cntrl+C Cntrl+V” said the graffiti, the latter in reference to a complaint of plagiarism made against an Anep document linked to the reform.

Caggiani repudiated the fact on his Twitter account. “It is not with these actions that education is improved. The house of the people are not part of the debate of ideas. It is a mistake and it cannot be repeated, ”she wrote on the social network.

However, he criticized the message with which the president defended Silva. “One more reason to go ahead with the transformations, Robert. It will take education. All the personal and professional support,” the president wrote.

To that message, Caggiani replied: “When the President behaves like a brava brava, it doesn’t help much. The fact is not admissible, just as it is not at all generalized in the peaceful demonstrations of those who are persecuted or ignored by this government.”

Other people and organizations also repudiated the graffiti against Silva’s house, such as the National Federation of Secondary Education Teachers of Uruguay (Fenapes). “The historical budget cut, the reform without teachers and students and the violation of rights are fought in the corresponding democratic spheres,” they wrote next to Silva’s original publication.

The director of Codicen told The Observer that in the next few hours he will report the incident to the Police, and that he has a video provided by a neighbor in which the moment of the graffiti, made by four people, can be seen.
