On Wednesday, August 3, at night, the Political Table of Cabildo Abierto met, a political sphere made up of its legislators and ministers.

After the meeting, the leader of the community, Senator Manini Ríos, said that several issues were discussed, including Accountability, but also the bill to reform social security.

In this regard, Cabildo Abierto entrusted its technical specialists with a “detailed” study of the text of the reform.

“Initially we have some observations on the new pension regime.”

He added that there are “objections” regarding the reduction of bonuses to the Police. In this sense, he pointed out that “it deserves a deeper analysis because it affects the widows of police officers.”

“We believe that the reform is necessary, but it has to have the greatest possible political base. It must obey a State policy, not that of some parties, there must be a consensus policy that guarantees its continuity”, Manini Ríos remarked.

Salary improvement

On the other hand, Cabildo Abierto also analyzed other issues that are on the agenda, such as Accountability, the Free Trade Agreement with China, and the bill referring to co-responsibility in raising children.

The political community raises “the need to improve the salaries of the most submerged sectors of the public administration, particularly those of the Armed Forces, which are significantly lower than the rest compared to the hourly load.”
