The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, highlighted that the popular victory of July 28 “stopped fascism in its tracks here.” [en Venezuela] and in America”, in the face of similar violent expressions of that ideology that arise in the region.
“We have these similar expressions to write books about (…) Today we can say that Venezuela on July 28, with the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution, stopped fascism in its tracks here and in America, it paralyzed them because they were coming through Venezuela” and throughout America, the Bolivarian leader stressed during his participation in the World Parliamentary Forum Against FascismNeofascism and Similar Expressions.
Likewise, Cabello pointed out that “today Zionism is emerging with great force, Zionism that is exactly the same” as fascism.
immoral imperialism
“(…) Now to say that these hegemonic policies at some point emerged in the last century, no. We experienced similar expressions here 500 years ago when the Spanish empire arrived, the same Spanish empire that was incapable of caring for people who had suffered a tragedy there in Valencia, they showed up for five days in their royal costume and the people he claimed,” he said.
“They say they came to educate us, a lie! “They came here for our wealth, they came here to exterminate a people,” he emphasized. Furthermore, he compared the genocide of the native peoples by Spanish colonialism with the actions of the Zionist State of Israel against the people of Palestine.
The first vice president of the PSUV classified United States imperialism as “immoral” for supporting Israel, and the governments of the European Union for their “blatant support for fascism in Ukraine against our brothers in the Russian Federation.”
World anti-fascist front
In his speech, Cabello affirmed that Venezuela does its part to combat fascism. However, he considered, “we cannot stay only in Venezuela, we cannot stay only in Cuba, that is why President Nicolás Maduro’s call to create that necessary global anti-fascist front, because fascism is united, fascism is very united, is They communicate, they articulate strategies, when they target a people they unleash all their force against that people, they don’t care about anything at all, they have a lot of money, they have the media and they have no scruples or shame, that fascism of today has never had that. Here they are in America, in our America they are trying to see where they settle.”
The Bolivarian leader added that sooner rather than later the Argentine people will raise their voice against the fascism they are trying to sow in the southern nation.
“I have no doubt because these people are noble, warriors, fighters, they are a people that does not give up, the fighting spirit of the Argentine people,” he highlighted.
