The deputy and first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, accompanied the march in support of President Nicolás Maduro that took place in the city of Cagua, Aragua state.
As part of the agitation mobilizations of the PSUV in the communities and towns, Cabello said that they decided to start in the city of Cagua, and then go through all the towns of the country, reviewing the work of the party.
Cabello said that the activity is a recognition of the grassroots militancy of the PSUV, “who are on the streets, in each community, who know in detail what is happening, for the work they have been doing in each space.”
The first vice president of the PSUV stressed that a great responsibility rests on the street and community leaders, since they must attend to the needs of the people on time. In this sense, he asked to give priority to health issues in each community.
The political leader reflected that Chavismo and his party, as well as the allied parties, have no comparison with anyone. “We are a united bloc,” he said, referring to the opposition’s internal divisions.
He suggested being attentive to the holding of the opposition primaries, in which tempers can flare. “If they put a box here, come over and take a video and send it to me for” El Mazo “(his TV program),” he asked.
He stressed that the high political level of the PSUV bases will allow the opposition candidates not to deceive the people. “When they come to you to ask for your vote, ask them why they supported the sanctions against the people, why they called for an invasion, why they supported violence between brothers,” he said.
He remembered Commander Hugo Chávez with a phrase that he repeated continuously: “You have to fight not only for what has been achieved, but for what can be achieved.”
