The origin of the player in the picture directed by Professor Gustavo Alfaro is still being investigated.

International News.

Byron David Castillo Segura is a right-back who plays for the Barcelona soccer club in Ecuador. Due to his great performance in the Guayaquil team, he was summoned by the Argentine coach Gustavo Alfaro to several matches of the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

The 23-year-old soccer player played the Conmebol tournament matches against the teams of Paraguay, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay and Bolivia.

Although he has been international with the team from the neighboring country on several occasions, doubts have been raised about his nationality.

This was stated by a sports journalist who stated that a trial had just ended in Ecuador where evidence had allegedly been shown that Byron Castillo “is Colombian.”

In the post, he disclosed a document, apparently from a Colombian notary where it is read that the person in question is originally from Tumaco, Nariño.

Confusion?

However, said legal paper mentions Byron Javier Castillo Segura, who would be the brother of Byron David, the player of the Ecuadorian national team.

This confusion caused a wave of comments towards the communicator. However, since Byron Dvid’s brother is Colombian, doubts remain about his place of origin.

To contradict the version of journalist Bejarano, Ecuadorian media released a “birth certificate” of Byron David, which indicates that the young man was born in Ecuadorian territory.

The document indicates that his parents are: Harrinson Javier Castillo Ortiz and Olga Eugenia Castillo Ortíz, same names that appear in the birth certificate of his brother who was born in Tumaco, Nariño, Colombian territory.

Chileans, the most interested in clearing doubts

It is worth noting that from Chile they investigate the origin of the good player since if the contrary is proven, the southern team would appeal to the three points they lost to Ecuador, since they allege they would have lined up a player from another country.

This was announced by the newspaper The universe. “In Chile they are alert”, mentions the medium cited above.

“Chilean law firms specializing in international sports law, which usually process this type of appeal, are being contacted to determine the steps to follow,” they say at the headquarters of Chilean soccer, “he added.

If they were to take the three points from Ecuador, Chile would rise to fourth place, Peru would remain in fifth place and Ecuador would be left without a World Cup, a situation that at first seemed impossible to materialize.

While this legal situation is being defined, Barcelona de Ecuador, Byron Castillo’s team, has supported him and has launched a solidarity campaign under the hashtag #TodosSomosByron.
