The INE released its latest survey of business expectations

According to the latest survey of the National Institute of Statistics (INE) presented this Wednesday, Uruguayan businessmen expect the annual evolution of inflation to remain at 9% until October 2024when the administration of the current president Luis Lacalle Pou is four months away from completing his term.

The results shown by the state body’s survey indicated that “in November 2022 the median inflation expected by employers stands at 9% for the year 2022, at 9% for the rolling year closed in October 2023 and at 9 % for the rolling year ending in October 2024”.
On the other hand, the analysis indicated that the median of the expected variation of the operating costs of the companies is 10% (2022), 9% (November 2022-October 2023) and 9% (November 2023- October 2024).

According to the report presented this Monday by the INE, the CPI for November 2022 registered a monthly variation of -0.28%, inflation of 8.57% so far this year and in the last 12 months of 8.46%.
