The Colombian government confirmed the appointment of businessman Eduardo Ávila Navarrete as the new ambassador to Spain, appointment that has already received the approval of the Spanish Government.

According to the appointment decree, which is dated October 3, the new ambassador has residence in Spain and will replace Luis Guillermo Platawho was the last ambassador in Madrid appointed by the Government of Iván Duque.
