In the Eastern Cemetery located in La Guairita, El Hatillo municipality (Miranda), the remains of the journalist Kalinina Ortega (76) were buried, bones found in the patio of her residence located in San Bernardino, Caracas, after six years of search. She was reported missing in 2016.
According to information obtained from the forensic medicine of Bello Monte, the remains of Kalinina Ortega were handed over to her relatives who buried her last Wednesday.
On February 26, pieces of Kalinina Ortega’s body were discovered because a dog dug into the makeshift grave where they were buried. It was the courtyard of the fifth Antoinette No. 19 located on Fernando Peñalver Street, San Bernardino, adjacent to Cotiza and Asopeña, as reported by Últimas Noticias.
Subsequently, on March 1, Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced the opening of an investigation “to determine that said remains are indeed those of the social communicator.” Nine days later, the National Forensic Science Service (Senamef) notified Ortega’s relatives that the remains found corresponded to those of the journalist, who had died from a blow to the head.
Until now, the Cicpc has not reported any arrests for this homicide.
