After this result, Rubro-Negro lost the opportunity to take the lead in the competition, staying in fourth position with five points. Hurricane, on the other hand, reached its first triumph in the Brazilian Championship, reaching the 15th position with three points.
Flamengo and Athletico-PR played a very busy game in Curitiba, but the Rio team seemed to feel a little of the numerous changes that Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa made for this Saturday’s match. With this, Hurricane was better collectively and ended up reaching the winning goal in the 31st minute of the first half, when Terans took a penalty with category to overcome Hugo.
Now the two teams turn their attention to the Copa Libertadores, where Athletico-PR face Libertad (Paraguay) on Tuesday (26) and Flamengo visits Universidad Católica (Chile) two days later.
