Bonao-. The mayor of Bonao, Eberto Núñez, presented the three new compactor trucks acquired by his management to improve solid waste collection services in the different neighborhoods, sectors and communities of this municipality, thanks to the support of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.
Speaking at the event, held in the main parking lot of the local council, the building official highlighted that the new trucks were purchased through the procedures established in Law 340-06 on Purchases and Contracts, “because we made a commitment with the people that we were going to act with transparency and integrity.”
Núñez recalled that when he arrived at the Mayor’s Office he found a vehicle park, whose units were completely useless, for which he turned to the “friendly hand” of President Abinader, in order to give him a serious response to the problem of garbage, who approved a contribution of 19 million 800 thousand pesos, for the acquisition of said trucks.
On his side, Juan Carlos Liriano, vice president of the Bonao Municipal Council, highlighted the hard work carried out by Mayor Núñez throughout the process for the purchase of the trucks, which he said will contribute to the well-being of this population.
The event was also attended by councilors Rosa Batista, Carlos Olivo, Odalix González, Dilenia Tineo, Fiordaliza Pichardo, Agustín Rosario and Wilfredo Beltré, as well as the director of the Monseñor Nouel Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CORAMON), Roque Badía and dozens of presidents of neighborhood associations from different sectors and communities of Bonao.
The representatives of community institutions and organizations present at the activity were able to verify the optimal conditions in which the trucks arrived in this city, which caused a great celebration in this demarcation.
Prior to the start-up and integration of the new fleet of vehicles into the solid waste collection program, the drivers and the staff of the Department of Ornament of the Mayor received training on its use and management, by a team of technicians. from the company Ocam.
