Bonanza femicide murdered a young man in Managua 20 years ago

The femicide Marlon Noel Ríos Rizo, 36, was sentenced to life in prison for the crime of femicide against his partner Kenia Yosmari Vivas, 19.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant injured his victim causing 104 perforations in his body to the point of severing his left arm. The crime occurred on July 14 in the community of Hi Land Merry, in the municipality of Bonanza, North Caribbean of Nicaragua.

This would be the second criminal act committed by Marlon Ríos, who in his circles was known as “La Cabra”, since the first occurred more than 20 years ago, in the Gaspar García Laviana community, located at kilometer 13 on the highway to Masaya. .

A source from that neighborhood who knew the victim and the criminal, on condition of anonymity, revealed to Article 66 that Ríos murdered the young man identified as Yader Quintero, whom he allegedly stabbed with a “bayonet in the chest.”

He also explained that it all started with a lawsuit at a party “where a lady named Coco.” “Yader beat him up, but since Marlon was a coward he treacherously attacked him,” the source said.

He pointed out that Marlon Ríos was never arrested for the alleged crime, because his uncle Pedro Rizo was at that time a police officer and head of the sector where the events occurred, according to informants told this media outlet.

In addition, he stressed that the accused’s relatives “hid him” because Yader Quintero’s cousins ​​”swore to take revenge” for the crime against their relative.

Femicide, sentenced to life imprisonment

On July 21, Judge Jazohara Zamora Rivera, of the Triángulo Minero Specialized Court for Violence, sentenced Marlon Noel Rios Rizo to the detriment of his partner Kenya Yosmari Vivas. The defendant will serve his sentence in the Matagalpa prison system.

During the reading of the sentence, the court indicated that the evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office demonstrated the degree of “violence and viciousness”, according to local media.
