This Tuesday, Conmebol launched the official candidacy for South America to host the 2030 World Cup. Simultaneously to this press conference and the official announcement, the Argentine president moved the social networks with an unusual invitation: for Bolivia to join this “dream”.
100 years after the first World Cup, it makes sense that this one would return to where it was born. In 1930 it was played in Uruguay, and in 2030 it could return to Uruguayan territory, but accompanied by four other countries.
“History and passion will give us the possibility of hosting the 2030 World Cup”, raised Claudio Tapia, The president of the AFA was very optimistic regarding this proposal to put together a World Cup in four countries: “We know that we must work hard to convince and demonstrate to the world that we can be the South American headquarters of 2030.”
“We all work for the same goal, that South America can hold the World Cup. It is a great opportunity to show the world that football was born here”, expressed Matias Lammens, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Argentina.
This candidacy is from the entire continent. For this reason, I would like and I am going to propose that our sister country #Bolivia be part of this dream.

“This candidacy is from the entire continent. For this reason, I would like and I am going to propose that our sister country Bolivia be part of this dream”, commented the president of the neighboring country.
He also added that his “Argentina National Team brought the World Cup to our continent and It would be a great joy if, 100 years later, the World Cup returns to where it all began: South America”.
Bolivia already tested this possibility a few months ago. The president of the FBF, Fernando Costa, met with some authorities, but the issue did not go into depth.
Given the constant complaints from neighboring teams and federations about the height, it is most probable that the Bolivian venue that would be offered will be Cochabamba or Santa Cruz. Offering a stadium that is tall could be a negative point in FIFA’s considerations. Will it be given?
