Bolivia enters the plateau of the fourth wave and infections drop to 9,993 this Thursday

The rate of infections by Covid-19 fell for the fifth consecutive day, which denotes the plateau of cases that Bolivia is experiencing in the fourth wave. This Thursday, the Ministry of Health reported 9,993 positive cases, well below the peak of Friday, January 14, when 14,461 were registered, which was the highest record of the entire pandemic.

With the cases registered this Thursday, the country reached 795,087 patients who were infected with coronavirus and are already close to 800,000 positive cases in the 22 months that the pandemic has already been experienced. In the same period of time, 20,504 deaths were reached.

According to statistical data, the highest peaks of the four waves were: on July 18, 2020 four months after the pandemic was declared, there were 2,036 positive cases throughout the country, it was in the first wave.

Six months later, on January 27, 2021 the highest number of infections in the country would be recorded with 2,866 positive cases, which marked the peak of the second wave.

Four months passed for the country to experience the third wave and the June 9 last year, Bolivia registered 3,839 infections of Covid-19 as the highest figure.

Six months passed to reach the fourth wave and the January 14 they reported 14,461 cases positive of coronavirus, the highest figure of the four waves.

In the case of deceased the first wave was the most tragic because they registered 102 people who died in a single day, it happened on September 2, 2020.

For the second wave, the most fateful date was on February 2 when 74 deaths were published in all the country.

The May 20 last year It would be the highest peak of deaths in the third wave with 87 dead.

Finally the past January 18 of 2022 the highest number of deaths was 86 people who lost their lives due to the virus in the middle of the fourth wave.

This Thursday the number of cases reached 9,993 and Santa Cruz registered the highest number, with 2,045 positive cases, La Paz reached 2,022 cases, Cochabamba registered 2,012, Tarija 1,201, Chuquisaca 941, Oruro 753, Potosí 631, Beni 211 and Pando closed with 177 positive cases of coronavirus.
