Bolivia confirms that it will not attend the Summit of the Americas

The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, will not attend the Summit of the Americas, called by the Joe Biden government to be held in the city of Los Angeles from June 6 to 10.
The decision taken by the Bolivian Government corresponds to the rejection of the policy of exclusion of countries considered by the United States as “undemocratic”.

The Vice Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcón, indicated that “you cannot speak of a Summit of the Americas if the countries that make up our region, our continent, are not participating, that is the position that the Government maintains.”

For his part, the president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, confirmed his participation in the meeting, after receiving the invitation from the organizers of the summit.

The information was confirmed through a twitter issued by the Peruvian Foreign Ministry.
The US excluded Nicaragua, Cuba and Venezuela from the meeting, for which countries in the region such as Mexico, Argentina, Caricom, Alba-TCP, have set their rejection.
