Bogotá will have a third stadium for Colombian professional soccer

The District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) announced the remodeling and repair of the Olaya Herreraa sports arena that would become the third stadium in Bogotá.

According to the entity, the Olaya Herrera Park will be intervened at first, as well as improvements in the stadium for standards required by the Dimayoramong which appear the improvement of stands, improvement of dressing rooms for teams and referees, improvement of the perimeter fence and the change of the luminaires so that it is transmission lighting.

According to the deputy director of the IDistrict Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD)it is estimated that this scenario can be used as an alternative to Techo, mainly for second division groups such as Fortress F.C.in addition to being used for Colombian women’s soccer matches.

It is estimated that the remodeling works will begin in the second half of 2022 and that by 2023 this stage will be available to accommodate soccer fans. Although the signing of the contracts is still pending, the budget to carry out these interventions will be 2,000 million pesos.

The Olaya Herrera stadium has a capacity for 600 people and the Ascent Tournament, the Women’s League and the Colombia Cup would be played there.
