Board of directors of the DC throws the chain to Delpin for exceeding his mandate: they will ask the court to maintain the complaint against Chahin

The withdrawal of the complaint filed by the Christian Democrats against Fuad Chahin for “disloyal administration” unleashed an earthquake within the community. The darts point to Felipe Delpin, mayor of La Granja, current president of the DC and who withdrew the legal action in the 7th Guarantee Court of Santiago.

Criticism against Delpin’s actions came from the other members of the DC Board of Directors, who question the “unilateral action” and who do not know “the reasons that the president of the party had for renouncing the defense of the patrimonial integrity of the Christian Democracy”.

Through a public statement -and which was also read by the senator and third vice president of the DC, Yasna Provoste- the signatories indicate that “as is public knowledge, based on the information provided by the Electoral Service and others collected within the party, the decision was agreed to present judicial actions, so that the courts of justice would determine the civil and criminal responsibilities, if they existed, regarding the alienation of the community’s properties. rule of law and in compliance with our statutes”.

“Today, we have learned of the withdrawal of Felipe Delpin from said lawsuit in agreement with the defendant Fuad Chahin. The other members of the board of directors, who have come to sign this declaration, express our disagreement with this unilateral action and point out that we do not know the reasons that the president of the party had to renounce the defense of the patrimonial integrity of the Christian Democracy, which could entail a permanent inhibition to insist judicially in the case”, he adds.

Along these lines, they recall that “it was the Fuad Chahin administration itself that presented some of the documents objected to by SERVEL, which determined that said body send the records to the Public Ministry, which is why the Christian Democracy could not be left to the room to adhere to these actions”.

“There is, therefore, no intention of making a political attack, but only to act within the framework of the mandate that we have received to ensure the patrimonial integrity of our party. That is why we will ask the Central North Prosecutor’s Office to continue with the investigation and in the same way, to the Court that does not accept the withdrawal of the complaint filed by the national president Felipe Delpin, since it exceeds the powers of his legal mandate, including our party statutes and the Law of Political Parties, “they indicate.

“As representatives elected by the bases of our party, it is our responsibility to protect the patrimony of the Christian Democracy, for which we will insist on the search for judicial and administrative actions to clarify in the courts the facts observed by the Electoral Service”, they close the statement that was signed, in addition to Provoste, by Aldo Mardones, first vice president; Héctor Barria, second vice president; Patricio Ferreira, fourth vice president; Francisca Hernández, fifth vice president; Cecilia Valdés, general secretary; and Paulina Mendoza, JDC national president.
